CONTEXT
Midnight City — what we mean, and what we do not
A picture we use to teach. Not a place, not a product, and not anyone else’s property.
The boundary, stated plainly
- “Midnight City” is a Knight Shield Digital educational and community visualisation. It is our own framing.
- It is not an official Midnight Network map, city, product, programme, or initiative.
- Knight Shield Digital does not own, operate, or control Midnight Network or the wider ecosystem, and does not speak for it.
- No endorsement, partnership, sponsorship, or affiliation with any third party is implied.
An educational world concept, not just a figure of speech
We use Midnight City as a learning and community world concept: a way to picture a broader privacy-first ecosystem as a place you can walk around. The shared rule of that world is simple — ask for less, prove what matters.
Knight Shield District is our own neighbourhood and home base inside that picture. Other independent builders could conceptually occupy other areas, doing different jobs for different people while agreeing on the same rule. That is a teaching device we invented, not a directory, a partnership programme, or a claim about anyone else.
You can walk our part of it on the guided district tour. The distant skyline there is illustration only.
OURS
Knight Shield District
Our neighbourhood and home base. The KSD front door, where our own products live. We own this, we build it, and we are accountable for it.
NOT OURS
Midnight City
The wider privacy-first direction we hope to participate in. We do not own the street, we do not run the city, and we cannot promise anything on its behalf.
Why we use a picture at all
Because “privacy-preserving infrastructure ecosystem” means nothing to most people, and a neighbourhood does. The metaphor is a teaching tool. Where the metaphor stops and the facts start, we say so on the page.
